My mom has made these cookies ever since I was little, and they’ve been a favorite ever since! A family friend tweaked this recipe especially for us because my brother doesn’t like peanut butter. Now I too prefer this version of no-bake cookies!
You’ll love these cookies because they are soft and gooey! I’m not as big of fan of no-bakes that are brittle or crunchy, so these are perfect. The difference is in the amount of time that you cook them!
What you need:
- 1 + 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups instant oats
In a saucepan, mix sugar, cocoa, milk, butter, and dash of salt. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, slightly reduce heat and continue to boil for 50 seconds, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, then add the vanilla and oats. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or just pour mixture into an 8×8 baking dish to scoop out later.
