Favorite Black Bean Burgers

It’s always nice to have a meatless option for dinners and lunches! We make these black bean burgers often because I usually have all the ingredients on hand.

This recipe is short on time and big on flavor! Making them only takes about 5 minutes! They’re not only easy to make, but easy on the pocket book, too.

What you need:

  • 1 can (16 oz) black beans – do not drain
  • 1 and 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder


In a large bowl, lightly mash black beans. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Form into patties. I usually make about 4 large or 5 average-sized patties. Cook 4-5 minutes on each side either on a BBQ or in a pan on the stove top.

Top with cheese, salsa, or your favorite topping and enjoy!

Yields: 4-5 black bean burgers
