In the spirit of working on healthier eating habits, we decided to ditch flavored and sweetened yogurts. They tend to have a lot of extra sugar and other not-so-great things in them. Now we just buy plain yogurt and add this yummy sauce to it!
It is SO EASY to make and takes very little time! An added bonus? I actually think it tastes better than what you can get in the stores.
We mainly use the sauce for our yogurt, but it would be great as a topping for other things too!
What you need:
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 2 – 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/3 cup water
Mix ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 – 10 minutes until berries are soft.
Let cool as needed. Transfer mixture to a blender (Vitamix, Magic Bullet, etc.) and blend until smooth. Store in the fridge.
