Oh my goodness! What a fun little find in Old Town Florence! We wanted a sweet treat when we got into town, and tracked this place down on Yelp. We always visit Old Town anytime we’re in Florence! It is such a cute area full of fun little shops and galleries. Plus, there are lots of yummy places to eat!
I am glad we researched ahead of time otherwise we probably would have missed it! Sweet Magnolia Bakery is tucked back in a parking lot with just a small sign out front. To get to the entrance, you walk around back into a little courtyard. It’s just darling!
Inside it is cute and pretty small with just three or four little tables at which to sit. They have several cases full of homemade cookies, scones, donuts, quiches, cake, brownies – you name it! They also offer warm sandwiches, soups, and coffee.
It appeared to be a lady and her two young sons running the shop. They promptly took our order which consisted of a cinnamon roll (my choice) and a maple donut (husband’s choice). The picture above DOES NOT do them justice. The cinnamon roll was huge and probably one of the best I’ve ever had! And my husband devoured his donut.
Although we were the only ones actually eating there, several locals came in and ordered their goodies to go. That’s when you know you’ve found a good spot! So next time you’re in Florence, make sure to stop by this quaint little bakery. I know we will!
